LeVar Burton is known for his work on Star Trek: The Next Generation, causing Troy’s breakdown on Community, and his work to promote children’s literacy through Reading Rainbow.

Burton is updating the formula for Reading Rainbow and utilizing the technology used by the current generation of children. His company RRKidz is creating an iPad app that will be both educational and fun for children to use. The app will work by letting children explore the subject that they are learning about and will include games and other interactive elements; creating an immersive learning experience.
